Logical Olympiad – another successful year is over
This year, the Logical Olympiad, an extraordinarily popular and successful competition organized by Mensa Czech Republic, took place for the ninth time. In this competition, learned knowledge and algorithms do not play a role, the key lies in logical thinking, quick wit, and creativity.
The competition is largely managed by volunteers participating both in organizing the regional and final rounds and, especially, in preparing tasks for the competitors. Creating new, original, interesting, fun, and surprising tasks for every year anew is a demanding task indeed.
This year, dozens of Logical Olympiad supporters contributed towards the creation of the tasks – and should I thank all those who helped by name, there would not be any room left in this article. For this reason, I thank you all this way, which however does not take anything away from the gratitude I feel. We value your help very highly, no matter if it was major or minor. Thank you!
We hope that you will all contribute and help in future years of the Logical Olympiad, as well and you will remain among the team of “creators”. We intend to organize task-creating meetings over the course of the year, to share and develop ideas, and at the same time, to put together a great database of tasks for the future.
And as I have just returned from the Finals, that would not be possible at all without the regional co-ordinators, I mustn’t forget to mention them. Great thanks to all who organized the regional rounds this year (and, in many cases, who keep organizing them every year) in a professional way, without any hiccups. Thank you all, and I hope that you will participate again next year. And the same is true for the dozens of volunteers who helped with the Finals – everything ran smoothly, thanks to you. We highly value your work, and send you many, many thanks.
I am almost sorry that all the rush associated with this year’s Logical Olympiad is over. I however believe that the next year will be even better, even more amazing, and even more perfect – and, most importantly, that the competitors will like it even more. Because that is the greatest reward for us all. Thank you!
