The biggest worldwide Mensa event – the Logical Olympiad, organized by Mensa CR – has taken place this year, for the tenth time. Like in previous years, more than 60,000 children and 4,000 teachers from more than 3,000 schools took part in the competition.

In total, 195 competitors competed in the 10th national finals of the Logical Olympiad on 27th November 2017. Traditionally held in the Ball Games Room of Prague Castle, it provided the competitors with an opportunity to face various logical problems. The Logical Olympiad maintains high popularity – even the 10thyear of the competition attracted over 61,000 pupils and students from more than 3000 schools in the Czech Republic.

All 14 regional rounds of the Logical Olympiad took place on Friday, 3rd November 2017. More than 2,000 young people participated in it. Let’s look back and remember their unique atmosphere.

Alarm clock goes off at 5:40. Getting up for work? No, I took annual leave this year to be able to help with organizing the regional round of the Logical Olympiad. Fortunately, I am not alone, so it is time for me to get up quickly and to get to the venue, i.e. one of lecture rooms at Masaryk University; at 7AM sharp, I am greeting the other members of the team.

On 3rd November 2017, the Open Gate School in Babice hosted the regional round of the 10th year of the Logical Olympiad, organized by Mensa CR. A total of 150 of the most successful competitors from the Central Bohemian Region, who proved their abilities among 5,532 competitors from the nomination round, participated in the event.

We met at 7AM at the traditional place – at the building of the Regional Council. The funny thing was that each of us parked on a different floor of the underground parking, so the transport of all materials on a single trolley from three cars using local elevators was quite complicated.
